At Yellow Finch Gardens, we believe a garden should do more than just look pretty—it should work for the land. Many “pollinator kits” only provide flowers for adult butterflies to visit. Our 12-Pack Sanctuaries are designed to be true nurseries, providing enough “host plant” mass to ensure your caterpillars have plenty to eat before they take flight.
The Monarch Waystation 12-Pack
“The complete ecosystem to support the migration.”
The Monarch butterfly is a miracle of nature, but they are in trouble. A single Monarch caterpillar can eat an entire milkweed plant in just a few days. If they run out of food, the nursery closes.
Our Monarch Waystation is specifically curated to prevent that. We’ve packed this sanctuary with six full Milkweed plants—the only food a Monarch caterpillar can eat—to ensure they have the resources to grow. We’ve balanced this “nursery” with high-energy nectar fuel from the Brooke Collection, featuring soft pastels and late-season blooms to fuel their long flight to Mexico.
What’s Inside:
- 6 Milkweed (Asclepias) Plugs: Sturdy, essential host plants for larvae.
- 2 Verbena bonariensis: Our “Purple Beacon” that attracts butterflies from across the neighborhood.
- 2 Late-Season Asters: Essential fuel for the autumn migration.
- 2 Magnus Echinacea: Flat “landing pads” for easy feeding.
