At Yellow Finch Gardens, we believe a garden should do more than just look pretty—it should work for the land. Many “pollinator kits” only provide flowers for adult butterflies to visit. Our 12-Pack Sanctuaries are designed to be true nurseries, providing enough “host plant” mass to ensure your caterpillars have plenty to eat before they take flight.
The Swallowtail Sanctuary 12-Pack
“A fragrant, functional habitat for the Black Swallowtail.”
The stunning Black Swallowtail finds its home in the herb garden. This sanctuary is as beautiful and fragrant as it is functional. By mixing perennials with host herbs like Dill and Bronze Fennel, you create a scent-scape that invites butterflies to stay and lay their eggs.
This kit provides a massive amount of foliage, ensuring your “Little Finches” get to watch the entire transformation from tiny striped caterpillar to majestic butterfly.
What’s Inside:
- 3 Bronze Fennel: High-volume foliage with a beautiful, smoky ornamental look.
- 3 Fernleaf Dill: Compact, sturdy, and a favorite “baby food” for swallowtails.
- 2 Garden Phlox: Deep-flower nectar sources that swallowtails love.
- 2 Verbena bonariensis: High-volume nectar supply for mid-summer fuel.
- 2 Magnus Echinacea: Structural beauties that provide a perfect resting spot.
